The president of the Popular Party of Tenerife, Emilio Navarro, has expressed his “concern about the direction that the action of the island government is taking, which with its inconsistencies, is causing Tenerife to lose opportunities for its development.” This is what Navarro has stated after learning that the president of the Cabildo will sign an agreement with the State government, worth one million euros, to carry out actions in the field of railway infrastructure.
The president of the Popular Party of Tenerife assures “not understanding the position of the island government regarding the mobility infrastructures on our Island, since just two months ago, they opposed a proposal by the Popular Party to include the southern train in the Railway Network of General Interest to be eligible for European funds for its financing, and yet, now we know the fact that it has signed an agreement with the general administration of the State to draw up projects related to that same train”.
In fact, Navarro assures, “the southern train project has definitively struck down the credibility of Pedro Martín, whose actions are marked by the fear of losing the support of Podemos in the Cabildo government, and therefore, the chair of the presidency”. On this issue, Navarro assures that “what we demand from Pedro Martín from the Popular Party is that he put the interests of the people of Tenerife above all else”, and for that reason, “the Popular Party in the Cabildo has extended a hand to the president insular, with the aim of moving forward with the major issues that affect Tenerife”.
Emilio Navarro concludes that “this whole situation reveals an alarming lack of leadership, which brings us as a direct consequence the loss of investment, and therefore, of the competitiveness of our Island, in an international context that is increasingly complicated from the point of view of economic”.
