SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 6 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife begins the works to execute a relief lane attached to the branch that starts from the TF-5 road to the intersection of the La Villa Shopping Center, in the municipality of La Orotava. Once completed, this road will allow more agile access to Puerto de la Cruz. The project has an approximate execution period of three months.
The Minister of Roads, Enrique Arriaga, explained that “this new relief lane will allow direct transit for vehicles going to Puerto de La Cruz, which will make the link more fluid.” Likewise, he emphasizes the importance of this project to “reduce queues during peak hours and avoid slowing down traffic while improving the safety of road users”.
For his part, the insular director of Highways, Tomás Félix García, pointed out that during the three months that the works will last, it will be necessary to demolish elements such as curbs and sidewalks, dismantle and move the existing irrigation and public lighting services and generate the new platform on which the asphalt pavement will be executed. Once these works are finished, the affected elements such as fences, walls or gutters will be replaced and the road signage will be adapted.
The result of these works will be a new lane 3 and a half meters wide that will alleviate the intensity of the TF-5, which currently exceeds 50,000 vehicles per day.
To reduce the risks in the circulation of vehicles, signaling and beaconing operators will be used to increase safety and guarantee the fluidity of circulation.
