SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 5 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, signed this Tuesday with the sole administrator of RTVC, Francisco Moreno, and the director of RTVE in the Canary Islands, Domingo Álvarez, two agreements for the television coverage of the next Carnival.
The Councilor for Fiestas, Alfonso Cabello, was also present at the signing.
The signed agreement guarantees the maximum diffusion in the local, national and international scope of the Santa Cruz carnival, the only festival in the Canary Islands declared of international tourist interest.
With the reissue of the agreement, continuity is given to the collaboration with public entities that operate in the Canary Islands, collects a note from the City Council.
José Manuel Bermúdez was satisfied after the signing of the agreements “since an agreement is reissued that gives continuity to the dissemination of the Santa Cruz Carnivals in all territorial areas.”
In addition, he stressed that “global audiences will be reached through the International Channel, something very important in an edition in which we are once again experiencing the closest thing to normality.”
Bermúdez has confessed that he was “very keen to re-sign this agreement” because it means that the Carnival will be celebrated again. He especially highlighted “the commitment in the form of enthusiasm and affection” that the workers of the two television stations always put into everything they have what to do with the party
The agreement contemplates the live broadcast of the ‘Queen’s Election Gala’, scheduled for next June 10 for all of Spain through La 2 and Canal Internacional, with a potential audience of 400 million viewers, as well as on the RTVE and RTVC websites.
For its part, Radiotelevisión Canaria guarantees the regional broadcasting of the central act of the Chicharrero Carnival, as well as the broadcast of the main events of the festival programme.
INTERNATIONAL CHANNEL
After the audience successes reaped in recent editions, RTVE will once again broadcast on La 2 and Canal Internacional, the comparsa contest in its Rhythm and Harmony phase, scheduled for June 26, on Anaga Avenue.
Domingo Álvarez highlighted RTVE’s commitment to the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in recent years, with the availability of all its technical resources, as well as the support of state-level programs, such as ‘España Directo’, which achieved millionaire audiences and served as a showcase for the party.
Álvarez highlighted the alliance between both public television stations and the benefit it brings to the Carnival, as confirmed by the audience numbers.
Moreno, for his part, stressed that Televisión Canaria will broadcast all the Carnival events and assured “the inescapable commitment of Radio Televisión Canaria to bring the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife to all the homes of the archipelago.”
In addition, local television stations will play a fundamental role in covering the most important Carnival events, as in previous years.
