Marichal (Ashotel) demands to cancel the elections in CEOE-Tenerife and advances that the result will end up in court

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 5 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The president of Ashotel, Jorge Marichal, has demanded this Tuesday the annulment of the elections in CEOE-Tenerife because the process “is not clear” and “is not transparent” for which he has advanced that the result will end up before the courts of justice.

In statements to ‘Cope Canarias’ collected by Europa Press, he has accused the general secretary and candidate, Pedro Alfonso, of having “control of the apparatus” of the confederation by not having resigned from his position, criticizing that “he cannot be a judge and party “.

“We want the process to be annulled and a new one to be called, but the intention is to go to faits accomplis,” he said, lamenting that they have been “making moves” since before the elections were called. “The process is flawed from the beginning,” she stressed.

Marichal has reduced Alfonso to the role of a “technician” and not a businessman and although they were satisfied with his work at the head of the General Secretariat, he maintains that the Tenerife businessmen must be chaired “by a businessman or a businesswoman at the head”, in this case , Victoria González Cuenca, financial director of Chafiras, the other applicant in contention.

He has pointed out that around the electoral process there are “strange circumstances” that also “do not comply” with the CEOE-Tenerife statutes, hence he has guaranteed that they will go “until the end”.

Along these lines, he has been convinced that within a year or a year and a half there will be a court ruling that “makes things clear and it will be a shame, because it will be a year and a half lost”. “Things cannot be done like this”, he has added.

As an example of how the process unfolds, he pointed out that the company that promoted Alfonso’s candidacy has withdrawn from the confederation and has stressed that at the head there must be “a businessman or businesswoman who is hurt by things” and knows what is to “pay a salary” at the end of the month.

He has indicated that “it is not moral” that Alfonso has not resigned from his position before the elections while at the same time he has singled out this front against the process of the conviction he suffered for tax fraud for the sale of some apartments and the alleged lack of employer support.

“I have absolutely nothing against anyone, my personal circumstances were what they were at that time, I had a problem with the Treasury due to an inspection because an advisor made a mistake with the way of doing it, I have paid what I had to pay, I am not going to die now nor am I going to cut my wrists, I have already paid, I am calm with the representation I have, morally I feel very calm and very satisfied with my career, I sleep with my head not with anyone’s, ” has pointed out.
