SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 4 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through Turismo de Tenerife, has presented in Paris the attractions of the island as a tourist destination during the celebration of the first edition of the Konect.Agency tourism meetings, a network that integrates professionals, agents and operators of the French tourism industry.
The island, in collaboration with the Spanish Tourism Office of the French capital (OET) and Turespaña detailed in this meeting, before thirty professionals, the wide range that Tenerife offers for luxury stays, “from its establishments of four and five stars, passing through exclusive experiences, the scenarios for holding events, or the eight first-class golf courses scattered around the island”, highlighted the CEO of Tourism of Tenerife, David Pérez.
“France was in 2021, with almost 120,000 travellers, the fourth source market for tourists to Tenerife, behind Spain, the United Kingdom and Germany. For the island, the French market has always been very important, and with these actions we seek to consolidate the image among French visitors, highlighting the range of possibilities offered by the island territory for the luxury sector, events and golf, among other attractions”, he pointed out.
Representatives of agencies and tour operators participated in the work session through the agency specializing in the luxury sector Konnect, including the director of OET Spain in Paris, María José Gómez, accompanied by Roberto Fernández, both representing OET Paris, and Sophie Triboulet, representative of Air France.
This meeting, highlighted Pérez, “made it easier to deepen and establish professional contacts that will allow the Tenerife tourism sector to expand its position in the Gallic country.”
In addition, he highlighted “the most exclusive experiential offer that the Tenerife destination presents for tourists who visit us for pleasure or business, whose main interests are golf, gastronomy and nature, as well as exclusive accommodation”.
David Pérez also highlighted the incorporation of the flag carrier Air France into the air connections with the island, which on November 1 opened a route between Tenerife South and Paris-Charles de Gaulle, “which gives us a plus in our objective of increasing the number of business class passengers traveling to our destination.
To promote the arrival of these tourists, he commented that last January a promotional loyalty action was carried out with Air France through the ‘La Collection’ platform, which focused on reinforcing the visibility of the island and consolidating the reservations of the rest of the winter season 2022.
