The Local Government Board of the City Council of Los Realejos, at the proposal of the Department of Social Welfare, recently approved the annual nominative subsidy amounting to 20,000 euros to the entity Aldeas Infantiles for the financing of its local projects of social attention to minors in situation of vulnerability from its day care center located in La Montañeta.
These royal facilities opened their doors in the municipality in 2013, as a result of a donation from their former owners to Aldeas Infantiles, a center that cares for “between fifteen and twenty boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 14. of the locality, in coordination with the social services».
The Councilor for Social Welfare, Olga Jorge (PP), highlights her projects on «school reinforcement, promotion of skills and social values, psychomotricity or robotics, among others. As well as some of the activities that take place in this center to which, for the tenth consecutive year, the Los Realejos City Council provides financial resources and support for this coordinated social work.
The first deputy mayor, Adolfo González (PP), who together with Olga Jorge recently visited the Aldeas Infantiles realejero center, announced that the intention of the local government is “to continue working hand in hand with this type of entity for family integration and of minors in a situation of helplessness or vulnerability, supporting and promoting, to the extent of our possibilities, the most appropriate intervention resources and programs based on the technical reports of the Social Welfare area.
“The team of social workers and the specific area for Minors of this Los Realejos City Council play an important role in the preventive task and immediate attention in these cases, since their technical family evaluation reports determine the need for follow-up or referral of children. and girls to this social resource, “adds Councilor Olga Jorge.
