Holy Week in Adejera rescues all its processions and La Pasión
Holy Week adejera returns with all its acts

The Holy Week in Adeje returns after two years of hiatus due to the pandemic and will recover all the processions and the representation of La Pasión.

“We are happy, it is the Holy Week of the return to normality and for Adeje It has a double reading. On the one hand, as a tourist town, where we hope to receive people who come to enjoy their vacations; and on the other hand, as a municipality that respects, cares for and loves its traditions”, said the mayor, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, at the presentation ceremony.

The councilor highlighted the innovative staging of La Pasión: “We combine the television-film format and the live performance in the Plaza de España. We have made the need, virtue or the problem, opportunity, we are going to have an excellent filmed product that will allow us to promote our municipality as a sun and beach holiday destination, but also as a heritage, gastronomic, cultural and ethnographic destination”.

For her part, the Councilor for Culture, María Clavijo, stressed that “resuming activity has not been an easy task, but we have done it in collaboration with the parishes and all areas of the council.”

Alberto Álvarez, coordinator of the Culture area, indicated that “almost all the scenes of La Pasión have been filmed in various natural and heritage sites in the municipality, always with amateur actors and actresses.” The broadcast of the film will link with the direct one in the Plaza España where the meeting of Mary with Jesus and his subsequent crucifixion will take place.
