The insular group of Sí Podemos Canarias will request the disapproval of the vice-president of the Council of TenerifeEnrique Arriaga, in the next plenary session of the Island Corporation. This pointed Maria Jose Beldaspokesperson for the purple formation in the Cabildo. The reason is “the evidence of mismanagement in public companies under their responsibility, such as Titsa or ITER.” Arriaga blames it on “revenge for our position in favor of developing the south train», a project that Podemos rejects -Yes, we can, the Canary Islands supported the insular government of PSOE and Ciudadanos, and it remains as external support.

Belda details that during the appearance of the Minister of Citizens in the last plenary session, “we exposed numerous deficiencies in both companies that cause serious problems when they must be leaders in the provision of public services to citizens.” The spokeswoman for Sí Podemos Canarias denounces that it is “worrying and intolerable” that “the answer is that we go to the company’s services in search of solutions.” He values that Arriaga “evades his obligation as responsible” because “he throws balls out and it seems that he does not go with him.”

Harsh criticism of Yes We Can to Vice President Arriaga: “His management is disastrous”

The purple councilor David Carballo denounces, for his part, that in Innovation, an area under the responsibility of Arriaga together with Mobility, «Serious errors have been made that affect public entities such as the Tenerife Science and Technology Park (INtech Tenerife), where a defendant in the NAP case is the CEO. In addition, she stresses that “public money has been wasted on a failed and half-baked Innovation Master Plan.” She influences Carballo in “the loss of the financing of the system of early detection of forest risks, which is equivalent to the return of 4.1 million euros”.

María José Belda assures that Arriaga also has “an open conflict in the TF-21 and the indiscriminate felling of trees.” The purple spokeswoman concludes: “We are aware of problems in other public companies under the extensive umbrella of areas that it tries to cover.” Sí Podemos Canarias recalls that its position “is one of opposition. We already announced after the February plenary session that we withdraw support from the areas that Cs directs. The reason is “to breach the agreements with the PSOE that allow him to govern.”

“This is revenge for our favorable position to promote the train of the South.” This is how Enrique Arriaga values what he considers “an anti-democratic attitude” of Sí Podemos Canarias, because “they intend to impose what they want on another political formation.” The leader of Cs and vice president of the Cabildo recalls that “we have not signed any pact with Sí Podemos, but rather an agreement at the beginning of the mandate to carry out the motion of censure against the Canary Coalition government.” The regional coordinator of the orange formation rejects trying to link it to the management at Titsa or ITER, “which could be improved, but has nothing to do with this political vendetta.” Arriaga values: “We will continue working for the people of Tenerife and I tell Sí Podemos Canarias to do what it deems appropriate.” Enrique Arriaga concludes: «The objective of Ciudadanos is to get Tenerife up and running, in the face of the paralysis that others want for our Island».

This newspaper tried to find out the opinion of the other part of the government team, the PSOE, but its spokespersons chose not to make any statements. In the January plenary session, Enrique Arriaga withdrew “due to lack of consensus” his motion to include the South train in the State Railway Network of General Interest and to be able to receive European subsidies for the project. Sí Podemos Canarias threatened one day before the session to break the government pact signed with the PSOE if this party supported the initiative.

In the February session, a motion to promote infrastructure was carried out, at the initiative of the CC with the support of the PP and the vote against by PSOE and Sí Podemos. It was approved by the abstention of Cs. Arriaga argued then that “PP and CC do not seek to favor the train, but rather to generate division and tension.”

While in Tenerife Si Podemos opposes the tram system, in Gran Canaria his party colleagues support him, as his favorable vote showed last Friday when the Cabildo unanimously backed the train. The process of the train of the South began in 1997 and 25 years later it is still without progress.
