SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 30. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands has opened this Wednesday a new public call directed on this occasion to the music sector, specifically to recording or publishing record projects, in which 250,000 euros will be invested.
The projects that qualify for this aid can be in physical or digital format, produced in the Canary Islands by companies and professionals from the Autonomous Community, although up to 20 percent of the artistic or technical cast may be national or international.
Only those productions that are newly created, not reissues, and that go on the market between January 1 and December 1, 2022 are eligible for this support. The main purpose is to support a quality, diverse, innovative artistic offer and of interest to all audiences, facilitating in part the necessary financing both for the hiring of suitable professionals and for the recording of a musical production.
The call is published through the Canarian Institute for Cultural Development (ICDC) and its bases are available in the corresponding section of www.icdcultural.org. The deadline for submitting proposals will be open until April 29, at 2:00 p.m. Self-employed professionals and companies whose main activity is carried out in the music production sector, duly accredited, can apply for it.
The projects that are selected for production and considered most suitable by the assessment committee in this call will form part of a database whose purpose will be to give the possibility of participating in actions or performances framed in the dissemination, communication and/or promotion of projects on the islands and abroad, among others.
For budgetary reasons, groups and artists may submit a maximum of one proposal, while record producers may request up to five. The minimum and maximum amounts to be granted range from 2,000 to 10,000 euros.
The evaluation committee will take into account mostly artistic criteria, although the professional career of the person submitting the proposal, the presence of women in both the technical and artistic cast and the viability of the project will also be taken into account. Those proposals that contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals for culture and the 2030 Agenda will also be valued.
