Óscar Izquierdo, president of the construction employers association in the province, Fepeco, highlighted the interest of the Granadilla de Abona government group “in starting a new stage, where streamlining, speed and bureaucratic efficiency prevail in the resolution of files” , something that “is in the process of being solved and that in a few months will be an unquestionable reality.”
After acknowledging “the difficulties that this process entails”, Izquierdo explains that “the construction sector is expectant and excited about these measures”, as well as waiting for “in-person technical visits to be established soon”.
The president of Fepeco reaches this conclusion after a working meeting with the mayor of Granadilla, José Domingo Regalado, and the councilor for Urban Planning and Finance, Rubén García. In it, the councilor spoke of the difficulties arising from the pandemic, which did not prevent a profound budget improvement, which left the municipal debt at zero and a good investment capacity of its own, with plans to expand it. In addition, he separated the Technical Office from General Services, significantly reinforcing technical and administrative streamlining.
Izquierdo assures that Granadilla de Abona “has everything necessary to become the municipality with the greatest economic and social growth in the Canary Islands in the coming years”, with its industrial estate and port, the power plant and Tenerife Sur Airport.
