The Canarian Housing Institute (Icavi) promotes the construction of 17 protected homes in Santiago del Teide. To do this, it approves the update of the construction project, a step prior to the bidding process to contract the works. This promotion is included in the program of new construction of protected housing of the Canary Islands Housing Plan 2020-25, and will be the first houses of public promotion in this municipality in 17 years.
The Icavi commissioned the drafting of the update of this construction project to the company TXO Workshop of Architecture and Urbanism, Systems and Sustainable Development, for its adaptation to current building codes. This includes adjusting the budget for urbanization and construction, the health and safety study, material execution and general rates. With the technical approval of the project, the bidding process for the works is launched, which will go out for contracting in a few months and, once awarded, will have an execution period of 18 months and a cost of 2,235,245 euros.
The Vigil
The last protected housing development completed by the Canarian Housing Institute in this municipality were the 20 units of La Vigilia, in Puerto de Santiago, delivered to the successful bidder families in June 2005.
This promotion adds to several more that the Ministry has underway, such as the construction of 16 homes in Ingenio (Gran Canaria) and another 11 in Breña Baja (La Palma). In addition, a few days ago it awarded the drafting of projects for 437 protected homes on several islands, the construction of which will be put out to tender this fall.
With all these actions, the Ministry advances in the fulfillment of the axes of the Canary Islands Housing Plan to promote the construction of public housing that allows alleviating the housing emergency, one of the great objectives that are part of the new Canary Islands Housing Plan 2020 -25.
