The City Council of Candelaria concludes the installation of photovoltaic panels for the production of electricity with sources from renewable energies for self-consumption in the Zona Joven municipal building, located in Punta Larga.
The total cost of the solar installation, including the technical project, project management and health and safety coordination, amounted to 35,0571 euros, according to the mayor of Candelaria, Mari Brito.
It highlights the relevance of betting on renewable energy, starting with the example of the municipal facilities themselves. “For this reason, this month the tender for the photovoltaic installation for self-consumption of the Candelaria Technological Center (CTcan) is called, for an amount of 48,328 euros,” he added.
The Councilor for Urban Agenda and Environmental Management and Planning, Cecilia Otazo, pointed out that the project that concerns the Youth Zone is subsidized by the Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning with 16,223 euros, under the call grants aimed at improving energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies in public infrastructures, including public buildings, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the scope of the Canary Islands Operational Programme.
