Canarias obtains two silvers and four bronzes in the national FP championship

The Canarian delegation of the Vocational training public participant in the national championship SpainSkills 2022 He has obtained two silver medals, in the categories of Fashion Technology and Window Dressing, and four bronze medals, in Floristry, Kitchen, Refrigeration and Automobile Painting.

The second places went to David Martín García, from CIFP Las Indias in Tenerife, who attended the Fashion Technology tests, and Briseida García Sánchez, from IES José Zerpa, who did so in Window Dressing.

In addition, the third in the classification were Guillermo Aryday Martínez Ramos, from IES Sobradillo, in Floristry, Carolina Marrero Sánchez, from IES José Zerpa, in Automobile Painting, Irene Hernández Rodríguez, from IEN Virgin of Candelaria and Álvaro Morales Tejera, from IES Ingenio, in Refrigeration.

A total of 23 students from the Canary Islands, who traveled to Madrid with their tutors and with the general director of Vocational Training and Adult Education, Rosario Gañán.

David García won second place in the Fashion Technology category DE


The person in charge of the educational department congratulated the entire Canarian group of students for their qualifying for national tests and especially to those who have received medals in this competition. He pointed out that Vocational Training has undergone a change thanks to the improvements promoted by the Canarian Executive, which have led to an increase in groups, places and diversification of the educational offer in these teachings “and a committed and vocational student body, who leaves their skin to become top-level professionals.

“It is a very tough competition, which takes place over three days; For this reason, it has been a pride to verify that our students have maintained themselves throughout the competition, overcoming difficulties and dosing their strength, which also constitutes a valuable learning for life”, he added.

The selected students will be able to be part of the team that will represent Spain in world competitions word skills (Shanghai, from October 12 to 17, 2022) and European Euroskills (St. Petersburg, from August 16 to 20, 2023).
