The yellow notice (pre-alert) for rains and strong gusts of wind, in force from this Saturday, will extend in Canary Islands until next Monday, March 28 (until 4:00 p.m. or 11:00 p.m., depending on the islands), according to the forecast of the Meteorology Statal Agency (Aemet). Lanzarote and Fuerteventura are free, for now, from that risk.
On Sunday, a southwest wind is expected, with probable very strong gusts, which could exceed 70 kilometers per hour until late afternoon, in La Palma, El Hierro, La Gomera and Tenerife. On summits of Gran Canariathere is also a yellow warning for gusts that could exceed 70 kilometers per hour, but the period changes when the front arrives later, covering from the early hours of the morning to the end of the day.
Very strong streaks are not ruled out in Cumbres de Tenerifewhat could exceed 90 kilometers per hour, during the first half of the day.
The skies will be covered in the Canary Islands and the widespread rainfall could be locally heavy on all islands except Fuerteventura and Lanzaroteaccording to the Aemet.
At sea, a southerly component force 3 or 4 wind is expected that can reach 5 or 6 during the night. It is also expected tidal waves increased to tidal waves and strong swells at night as well as downpours starting at dawn.
