SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 26. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The National Police has arrested a 34-year-old Italian and has seized more than 31 kilograms of marijuana after deactivating an indoor marijuana plantation that operated from a farm in El Rosario (Tenerife).
This has been reported by the Superior Police Headquarters of the Canary Islands, which adds that, apparently, the drug was destined for the metropolitan area of Santa Cruz and La Laguna.
The investigation began after the agents learned from other investigations of the possible existence of a marijuana plantation on a farm in the north of the island, information that was confirmed.
However, the police confirmed the existence of powerful night lighting on the farm, high-voltage cables and irrigation hoses typical of this type of indoor plantation.
In addition, the facilities had night surveillance to detect a possible police investigation or an attack directed against the plantation by consumers or competitors in the illicit market, as is relatively common.
For its part, after being judicially authorized, in a device that involved several police units, the National Police entered and searched the farm.
There, the investigators arrested a man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health, and seized 31 kilograms of marijuana, 800 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms, various doses of cocaine and ecstasy and material elements intended for the cultivation of marijuana.
Finally, the detainee, after being heard in a statement at police stations, was placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.
