The adolescents and boys and girls of Los Realejos will decide again this year the destination of a small part of the municipal budget, about 60,000 euros. The Municipal Council for Children and Adolescents of the town held this week one of its periodic joint sessions in which they received the visit of the Councilor for Finance, Darío Pérez, and the municipal comptroller, Francisco Rodríguez Pérez, to present a proposal agreed between children and youth of the municipality with different investments to be included in the 2022 Neighborhood Plan.
The first deputy mayor of Los Realejos, Adolfo González, recalls that “since 2015, the Municipal Council for Children and Adolescents has been granted the opportunity to decide within itself on proposals for works with which the local children’s community understands that Los Realejos can be improved and that they transfer us to the municipal corporation for its consideration». In previous years, children and adolescents have promoted the creation of the first dog park, a park with a bicycle circuit and driver education, a sculpture dedicated to children or the installation of adapted play elements in the La Magnolia playground.
The mayor of Children, Macarena Hernández (PP), explains that “part of these proposals have been collected through the Los Realejos child participation project in educational centers (Niñ@landia), through the actions that have been carried out carried out in recent months for the design of what will be the future III Local Plan for Children and Adolescents». The prioritization of the demands collected is a step prior to the creation of the respective projects, which are entrusted to the Municipal Projects and Works Unit of Los Realejos.
