SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 24. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Government Council of the Canary Islands has approved this Thursday to make a multi-year expenditure of 2,261,979.46 euros for the contracting of the comprehensive maintenance service for the equipment and wiring of the corporate voice and data network of the Government of the Canary Islands, as well as to report of this agreement to the regional Parliament.
The tender budget will be distributed in three annuities: 282,747.43 euros in 2022, a total of 1,130,989.73 euros during 2023, and 848,242.30 in 2024.
The corporate network, which is distributed among the different buildings, offices and centers located on all the islands, is made up of various electronic communication elements, as well as cabling infrastructures and teleprocessing lines, and supports the information systems that offer necessary services for the normal development of the activities carried out by the Government of the Canary Islands, among others, to its more than 30,000 telephone extensions.
After the end of the previous contract and its corresponding extensions, the General Directorate of Telecommunications and New Technologies confirmed, in a report dated March 17, 2022, the need to proceed with the contracting of said service, through an open procedure and ordinary processing, to adapt the corporate network to the new needs and achieve optimal system operation.
This management center has been incorporating new networks and services that increasingly demand a greater capacity for action to accommodate the continuous growth of the computer applications of the corporate network.
In order to optimize the operation of the network, it is necessary to have a set of technical and human services capable of resolving the more than 9,000 incidents that are managed annually, carry out the necessary preventive actions and provide the means to adapt the network to the new needs.
The specific object of the contract is the provision of a Comprehensive Maintenance Service in the areas of LAN and WAN voice and data communications, and in the wiring and power supply systems of the communications systems and servers.
For the effective performance of these tasks, the successful bidder must make available to the Government of the Canary Islands technical personnel who will be exclusively dedicated to the attention of the activities included in the agreement.
