
Last Monday, the Governing Board approved the drafting of the technical documents necessary for the refurbishment of the property called the Urban Planning Management building, located on Avenida El Carmen nº 1, to move the headquarters of the Local Police, currently located in the Tres de Mayo Avenue, commissioned by the Councilor for Infrastructure and Works, Dámaso Arteaga.
For his part, the mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, maintains that “after analyzing the existing Municipal Heritage and in order to guarantee the principles of effectiveness, efficiency and economy, as well as its adaptation to current sectoral regulations, it was considered that the The optimal solution consisted of transferring the Urban Planning Department to the municipal headquarters on Calle General Antequera” and adds that “in this way, the Security, Mobility and Accessibility area will be transferred to the location of the headquarters on Avenida del Carmen , which allows a more efficient deployment of Police and Civil Protection vehicles”.
The Councilor for Works and Infrastructure affirms that “the expected expense in this contract for contracting the project drafting and construction management service amounts to 119,040 euros, to which 7,787 euros of 7% IGIC included” and emphasizes that “These are two actions that will be carried out in a coordinated manner, so that once the refurbishment works of the new headquarters of the Municipal Planning Department have been completed, the personnel will be transferred to, subsequently, begin the refurbishment works. of the new headquarters of the Citizen Security Area”.
Regarding the distribution of the new building for the Security, Mobility and Accessibility area, Councilor Evelyn Alonso anticipates that “it will be carried out in such a way that the public access units intended for citizen attention are collected on the ground floors”, by while detailing that “the rest of the floors must be designed so that the services, units and related sections are located close to each other to guarantee optimal use of the property, as well as a flexible distribution that allows for the needs of future offices settle there.”
