The area of Equality Policies and gender violence the City Hall of San Juan de la Rambladirected by the mayor Gloria Mendez (PSOE)organizes next March 30 and 31 a free workshop on self defense for women, on the ground floor of Plaza de San José, starting at 3:30 p.m. Its aim is to provide participants with advice and techniques that “allow them to get out of a possible aggression».
The workshop has two blocks. The first is dedicated to prevention, “so it will deal with aspects to keep in mind before leaving home, in order to understand how the mind of an aggressor works type to think like him and from there to avoid surprise». Likewise, the participants will know all the necessary theory about the self protection, what support resources they have, the organizations available and which organizations should be consulted in the event of being a victim of violence. The second block, more practical, will teach self-defense techniques and tactics using any everyday object that can help to escape in case of attempted immobilization or physical aggressionin addition to tricks to control fear.
The training will be delivered by Policeman Manuel Fernandezpersonal defense monitor, as well as an advisor in crimonology, judicial and military expert.
