The residents of La Rambla, in San Juan de la Rambla, decided yesterday to intensify their protest by placing black ties on the facades of the houses to make it visible that “they are disappointed” and that the neighborhood “is dead”, because those responsible for the Cabildo de Tenerife “do not They show no sign of anything.” Specifically, they refer to a provisional solution that allows entering and leaving the neighborhood safely from the TF-5a point with a high concentration of accidents, because the definitive one will be done in the long term.
“We are sad and dead. That is the message we want to get across”, the spokeswoman for the Todos por La Rambla platform, Adela Abreu, told this newspaper yesterday.
They will put the ties, above all, in the houses that are affected by the bus stops that the Cabildo is building, some infrastructure that, according to the residents, “we have not asked for. They are creating difficulties for us and affecting our demand. The works that are being carried out prevent the implementation of a provisional solution and further complicate the situation. We are all against, but they do not listen to us, ”he maintained. Abreu assured that the Platform has a technical proposal prepared by professionals in the field, which will be announced shortly, which resolves the remaining stumbling block of the alternative that they presented at the time to the Cabildo and that those responsible were left to review it.
“The proposal had four points. The Cabildo accepted at the time three of those points, but not the turn towards Santa Cruz”, which, according to the neighbors, “is essential”, because they are not willing to go to the town and cross it and then go to the TF-5 in the direction of the island’s capital.
According to the Cabildo, it was not possible to make the turn due to lack of visibility and, therefore, security, but in the document that the neighbors will present, they show that it is possible to do it and safely, that is, “with visibility.” According to the neighbors, the road can also be widened to run the central lane and make turns both to the right and to the left.
Another of the measures that they will adopt is to gather on April 19 in front of the Insular Palace, pending the granting of the corresponding permit.
