Numerous users on social networks have reported this Saturday power outages in Granadilla and others municipalities of the South of Tenerifesuch as Arona or San Miguel de Abona.

As reported on the interactive map of E-Distribución, the electricity distributor of the Endesa group, the electricity supply has been interrupted since 11:27 a.m. in different areas of the municipality of Granadilla de Abona, due to a fault on the network, which is being repaired by a technical team.

Two incidents have affected the supply in San Miguel de Abona and Arona since 12:07 p.m. The company’s operators have also traveled to these municipalities to carry out the corresponding checks and replenish the service.

Power outages in Granadilla: what to do in the event of an incident like this

The E-Distribution website includes a series of recommendations for users who are affected by a blackout in the network.

  1. Have flashlights or rechargeable lamps and extra batteries on hand. When you store them, remember to do it in a fixed place that everyone in the house knows.
  2. Do not use candles to avoid the risk of fire. If you have to use them, because you don’t have anything else, keep them away from curtains, duvets, wood, flammable materials and small children.
  3. Do not open, as much as possible, the refrigerator or the freezer so that they do not lose cold and prevent food from being damaged.
  4. Disconnect any appliance that was left on when the cut occurred to prevent them from working again when the supply is restored and they are not under your supervision. For example, an iron, a toaster or an oven.
