The Adeje City Council will reinforce the services it provides to people with intellectual disabilities and acquired brain damage. To this end, it finalizes an agreement with the Hermanas Hospitalarias Acamán Special Education Complex, an entity that is a benchmark in the care of this group of people. In fact, it has eight resources on the island, including two centers, one in Arona and the other in Geneto (La Laguna), and two functional homes.
the mayor of Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, closed the agreement with the mother superior and the manager of the complex, María Ángeles Perdomo and Carmen Delia Álamo, respectively. Both the councilor and the representatives of the social entity expressed their “concern and awareness” towards people with disabilities and their families. The meeting was also attended by José Antonio López, Councilor for Attention to Disability.
Torviscas Beach
The Adeje City Council is already collaborating with the day care centers in Arona, providing the necessary elements so that users can carry out adapted therapeutic outings at Torviscas Beach.
The Acamán Sisters Hospitallers have experienced notable growth in the last decade, which has allowed them to offer new services to a greater number of people and welcome more students to develop their internships.
