The General Directorate of Security and Emergencies the Canary Islands Government has updated the warning level for strong winds in the Archipelago going to pre-alert (yellow notice) from eleven in the morning today Tuesday, March 15, 2022.
Although the intensity of the wind decreases, the possibility of gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour remains, especially on the southwest and northeast slopes, as well as in the wind channeling areas on the southeast slopes of all the islands.
On the summits of La Palma and Tenerife, the possibility of gusts reaching 90 kilometers per hour is not ruled out.
Security and Emergencies has adopted this decision based on the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency and in application of the Canary Islands Specific Emergency Plan for Risks of Adverse Meteorological Phenomena PEFMA (Decree 18/2014, of March 20).
