The Canary Islands have recorded some 500 incidents in the last 24 hours, mainly due to the strong gusts of wind that the storm ‘Celia’ is leaving behind in the archipelago.

These incidents, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center of the Canary Islands 112have been located mainly in the city of The Gran Canarian palmsas well as in the municipalities of Santa Cruz of Tenerife and The lagoonon the island of Tenerife.

On the other hand, in the case of the island of Gran Canaria, the Public Works and Infrastructure Service of the Cabildo has proceeded to close several roads in recent hours due to the storm of wind, water, snow and ice.

Specifically, the GC-134 has been completely closed, as well as the GC-130 from kilometer point 0,000 to 8,000 (Caldera de los Marteles), the GC-600 from kp 6,100 (junction with GC-130) to 2,300 (Cruce Camaretas), as well as the GC-606 highway (Carrizal-Tejeda) due to a landslide near Carrizal. This last route has already been reopened.

The wind and rain storm has also caused several landslides of stones and earth on the GC-605 road (Ayacata-Presa Las Niñas).

Likewise, on the island of Tenerife, traffic has been closed to access to the Teide National Park via the TF-38, from Boca Tauce, due to the presence of snow and ice on the road, as well as the TF-21 from Boca Tauce to Granadilla and TF-24 from La Laguna to El Portillo.
