The Archipelago has confirmed 39 deaths of patients suffering from Covid-19 in March, which translates into 68% less than in the first half of February. In fact, in that temporary space, the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reported 114 deathsonly nine fewer than in the first half of January, a month that was consolidated as the blackest of the pandemic after concluding with 273 deaths.
The last two deaths – both in Tenerife – have been reported this Tuesday by the health administration. The deaths correspond to two people aged 63 and 84 who suffered from previous pathologies and remained hospitalized.
What’s more, The region has today added 2,049 coronavirus infections to its statistics, of which 1,109 –54.1%– have been detected in Tenerife. Gran Canaria, on the other hand, has scored 669; Lanzarote 39; Fuerteventura 51; La Palma 120; La Gomera 55; and El Hierro six.
The latest data shows that in the autonomous community there are 13,138 positive patients, 113 less than yesterday. Tenerife is the island with the highest number of affected people, with 7,144. It is followed by Gran Canaria, with 4,468; La Palma, with 647; Lanzarote, with 305; Fuerteventura, with 294; La Gomera, with 228; and El Hierro, with 52.
Since the last balance, 2,160 epidemiological discharges have been issued, so the number of recovered rises to 297,734. Nevertheless In the Covid plants of the Canarian hospitals there are 292 patients -six more than Monday-, while in the critical areas there are 37 -one more-.
So far, 3,341,351 diagnostic tests have been carried out, of which 7,578 were carried out on Monday –4,704 more than on Sunday–.
The indicators that measure the accumulated incidence in the last seven and 14 days continue to register high values. Thus, the first marks 421.06 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the second 847.17.
