Dialogue, consensus and cooperation are the three pillars on which its management will be based Luis Xavier Gonzalezwho yesterday celebrated his 35th birthday assuming the Municipality of Fasnia. He relieved his party partner, Damián Pérez, with the six votes of the Socialist Municipal Group against the four of the Canarian Coalition that Pedro Hernández obtained. Its objective is to progress in the development of the municipality through the projects and policies put in place by the PSOE 11 years ago and with the renewed ideas of a group that remains “united” and cohesive. The purpose sums it up as head of Youth, an area that he will continue to manage: “I refuse, I refuse to resign myself and accept that the future of young people depends on getting out of here. I refuse. I will fight because it is not like that.”
In order for Luis Javier González to promise the position of mayor yesterday, Silvia Tejera Felipe, Juan Elías Cabrera and Raquel Díaz Cruz, councilors who preceded him in the candidacy, had to resign. Became the 11th alderman of Fasnia since the advent of the democratic stage, he is also the municipal general secretary of the Socialists.
“We have to refresh a project, the same but with a renewed, young and prepared group”
Mayors, parliamentarians and councilors of the PSOE accompanied him in a plenary session that he made emotional and was closely followed by the insular general secretary and president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, for whom the mayor recognized the support he gives to Fasnia “for economic balance and territorial, as he says. What a lack you were doing, Pedro, what a lack you were doing and how well you’ve come to Fasnia!”
The regeneration of the Los Roques coastline, the supply of drinking water tanks and part of the network, the Lomo Los Pinos track and, in process, the Las Eras breakwater. These are works for which he thanked Martín, to which, in terms of the immediate future, he adds “the necessary rehabilitation of the old cinema”, the asphalt of streets and highways, the repair of agricultural roads, the shelter of La Zarza, the rehabilitation of the land, the expansion of the CEO Guajara and the Plaza de La Constitución, the improvement of the water network, in addition to the recovery and start-up of the Las Eras Nursery School.
“What a miss you were, Pedro Martín, what a miss you were and how well you’ve come to Fasnia!”
“We have had to refresh a project, which will be the same but with a renewed, young and prepared group”, defends Luis Javier González, who had words for each of his councillors, especially for Silvia Tejera –who presided over the plenary–, “my hands and feet in this Town Hall”. He reached out to the opposition (CC) to work collaboratively to resolve the problems of this municipality.
In his words there was a lot of gratitude, including his colleagues at the firm, his party and his parents. In a unique way, he addressed the former mayor, Damián Pérez Viera, “an honest and good person. Thank you for paving the way and setting the course for the municipality. We will always be grateful.”
