Agents of the National Police have arrested a man as the alleged perpetrator of the theft of seven vehicles parked on public roads that he apparently removed with a crane and then sold them for parts or as scrap.
A police note indicates that the mysterious disappearance of a van put the investigators of the National Police on alert.
The vehicle, which was damaged, had disappeared from Fernando Bautell street in the capital of Tenerife and the mechanic who went to assess the repairs did not find it on the street and its owner, after learning about it, reported the incident to the police station.
Thus began an investigation that revealed that the vehicle had been stolen by a person who, according to the Police, was operating “in a peculiar way” since he chose vehicles that had been parked for some time on the streets of the capital of Tenerife and in La Laguna, assuming the right to do so, he requested a tow truck to remove them.
The vehicle was taken either to your home, to the tow truck yard or to a junkyard and, depending on where it was taken, it was either dismantled for sale or sold for scrap.
The alleged perpetrator of the events, who had been operating in this way since the end of November of last year, was arrested in La Laguna and elements of vehicles were found outside his home that related him to the events under investigation.
The detainee, along with the report made to that effect, was brought to justice.
The actions were carried out by national police officers from the National Police Station of the North District of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
