The Tegueste government smoothes rough edges at another pact table to try to finish the mandate

The government group Tegueste held a table of the pact in which he smoothed out rough edges to try to redirect the new clash that has occurred between Yes We Can (SSP) and United for Tegueste-Podemos, on the one hand, and the Socialist Party (PSOE), on the other, and be able to finish the mandate. In the appointment “the repeated delays of some commitments assumed by the PSOE were revealed” in the three tables that had been convened since February 2021 by SSP and Podemos, as explained by the first deputy mayor and eco-socialist leader, Manuel Martín.

“We state that the press release was the product of the concern of the two political forces for this repeated delay in areas that are the responsibility of the mayor,” said the mayor about the statement they previously sent, adding that they reminded the first mayor , Ana Rosa Mena (PSOE), who is the local councilor not of that political formation, but of “a government group of four parties” (PSOE, SSP, United for Tegueste-Podemos and Now Tegueste-Nueva Canarias).

As will be remembered, The appointment was convened after SSP and Podemos showed their “concern about breaches of signed agreements” and perceived that their work is “invisible” when disseminating the management of the Teguester City Council. That was answered harshly on social networks from Mena’s environment, in a publication that included some coarse term and that was later deleted. “This is a personal opinion and has nothing to do with the relationship of the government pact, which is in good health and continues to work effectively and rigorously for the interests of the residents of Tegueste,” they indicated about the message from the Cabinet of Press of the Teguester City Council. “The mayor is focused on government action and her work at the head of the Consistory,” they indicated before the pact table and when asked about what happened.

It is not the first time that the fluidity of communication in the municipal government has become the focus of problems. The case that had the greatest resonance was that of the Las Toscas gas station, a key issue in the last elections and that even led neighbors to gather outside the Consistory to applaud Mena as soon as his term began. The situation took a 180 degree turn last year after not informing the City Council of several setbacks during the judicial procedure. Another prominent example occurred in January 2020, when the PSOE initially opted for the path of silence in a problem with several dozen dogs in poor condition in a home.
