SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 14. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Carlos Rosales Fernández, a student at Escuela de Canarias Hotels (Hecansa), a center attached to the Department of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, has become one of the finalists of the ‘2022 National Inter-School Contest’.
The ‘On Trade Cocktail Group’ (OTC Group) championship is aimed at young promises from the world of ‘bartending’ and barista.
Together with 8 other finalists from all over the national territory, Carlos Rosales will participate in the last stage of the contest, which will be held in Madrid from March 14 to 16.
This contest seeks to serve as a professional launch for the students who participate and who are preparing to develop their work in the hospitality and tourism sectors. The final will be broadcast live and can be followed through the official OTC Group accounts.
Carlos Rosales has been trained in the Food and Beverage Management Program of the Hotel Escuela Santa Cruz (Tenerife).
He has managed to reach the final after passing the preliminary phases and the semifinals of the ‘Interschool Contest’ and the experience gained during his apprenticeship, his desire to continue training and his demonstrated abilities have allowed him to go so far.
Last February, OTC Group held a talk, in a digital round table format, with the winners of previous editions, Hecansa details in a note.
Margalida Moreno, national champion of the ‘Interescuelas 2019 Contest’, stressed that she liked the experience “very much” and two weeks later Molins’ representative called her, “here in Mallorca”, because they were looking for a bar manager at the hotel and they had proposed charge.
Participation in this type of experience is part of Hecansa’s training proposal.
The hotel establishments in the Canary Islands seek to create opportunities for students to be publicly recognized, demonstrating their qualities and aptitudes and it is a way of projecting their professional careers and bringing them closer to the world of work.
Hecansa, in its commitment to promote and support the tourism industry, has the following training programs in its professional offer: Food and Beverage Management (face-to-face and online), Hotel Management, Kitchen and Gastronomy Management.
In addition, they offer a wide range of Specialization and Digitization Courses.
Escuela de Canarias Hotels also makes its own scholarship service available to those who want to train –all information about it can be found on the website–.
