SAN SEBASTIAN DE LA GOMERA, March 13. (EUROPE PRESS) –
A 56-year-old German man has died and a 9-year-old girl of the same nationality is in critical condition after drowning in the davit area of the Hermigua natural pools (La Gomera).
According to the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 112, the events took place after 12 noon this Sunday when an alert reported that there were two people in distress at sea.
In this sense, Civil Guard agents managed to get the minor out of the water so that she could be assisted by the staff of the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) and Primary Care who were on the scene.
Once stabilized, the health team prepared her evacuation in the medicalized helicopter, which transferred her to the Hospital Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria, on the island of Tenerife, where she was admitted in critical condition.
For its part, a deployed GES helicopter located the adult male in the sea, rescued him and evacuated him to the San Sebastián helipad.
A medicalized ambulance from the SUC went there, which confirmed that he was in cardiorespiratory arrest and, despite the cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers carried out, they had to confirm confirmed his death.
Finally, agents of the Civil Guard took charge of instructing the corresponding proceedings.
