The spokesman for Ciudadanos (Cs) in Granadilla de Abona, Adán García, demands that the municipal government pay the subsidies for the year 2021 owed to the sports clubs. He affirms that several months have passed since the teams presented the corresponding documentation and that, to this day, some still do not receive the subsidy.
Adán García demands that the Canarian Coalition and the Popular Party make the payment of subsidies to all sports clubs effective because “it is not acceptable” that the beneficiaries have not received these aids, “vital for the clubs.” He values them as “essential” so that these teams can afford the purchase of sports equipment, salaries, sports license fees or travel.
The Cs spokesman recalls that “it is not the first time that unjustified delays have occurred”, which means that “year after year, the sports clubs of Granadilla face the uncertainty of when they will receive the aid and the abandonment, by the local government team, due to disastrous planning and lousy municipal management». García points out that there are clubs that presented proof of expenses for more than 50,000 euros.
