The plenary hall of the Parliament of the Canary Islands will recover its full capacity from this Tuesday, so that the 70 deputies that make up the chamber they will be able to sit in their seats at the same time in the plenary session.
Since the pandemic was declared two years ago, a room had been set up near the plenary hall from which a part of the deputies followed the sessions, but now that in Tenerife the level 1 measures of the health alerteven if it is at level 3, all the deputies who attend the seat of Parliament must take their seats.
The Parliament Speaker, Gustavo Matoshas indicated in a statement that the application of level 1 measures implies “the obligation to attend the session in person” and “the possibility of presence, intervention and telematic voting” is eliminated.
Matos has highlighted that the Parliament of the Canary Islands has not closed its doors “not a single day since the start of the pandemic” thanks to the technological effort made for the telematic participation of the deputies.
