SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 7. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Javier Parrilla, reported this Friday that he will hold weekly follow-up meetings with the most representative associations of the island’s primary sector to analyze the agri-food impact of the conflict in Ukraine, especially , on feed for cattle feed.
Parrilla points out in a note that the war between Ukraine and Russia generates a lot of uncertainty in the sector, since almost 30 percent of the cereal for cattle feed that Spain imports comes from Ukraine.
For this reason, he comments, “we will hold weekly monitoring commissions with the main livestock and agricultural associations on the island, to propose measures if necessary.”
The island councilor also guarantees that by 2022 the Cabildo will receive 1,355,000 euros in direct aid for livestock feeding, and that an item of 100,000 euros has been allocated for the Canarian Drag Association for feeding of cow cattle is enough.
