SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 6. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Two men of unknown age have died in a traffic accident that occurred last Saturday night on the Autopista del Norte (TF-5), as it passed through the municipality of La Guancha, in Tenerife. Four people were also injured in the accident, two of them seriously, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2.
The event occurred at 9:00 p.m., when the 1-1-2 operating room received an alert informing that there had been a collision of two vehicles and a motorcycle on the TF-5, resulting in the injury of several people, so the Cecoes immediately activated the necessary emergency resources to intervene in the area.
A medicalized ambulance, another sanitized and a third basic life support from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) traveled to the scene; a doctor and a Primary Care nurse from the Health Center in the area; members of the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium; agents of the Civil Guard, and personnel of the Insular Highway Center.
The SUC staff and the Primary Care doctor and nurse assisted all the injured and transferred them in the corresponding ambulances to the Canary Islands University Hospital, the Ntra. Sra. de Candelaria University Hospital and the North Hospital.
The injured were a 50-year-old woman, who presented serious chest trauma at the initial moment of care; a 28-year-old man, who suffered a serious spinal injury; a male of unknown age, who presented moderate trauma to the knee and neck pain, and another male, also of unknown age, who suffered a moderate ankle and wrist fracture.
Firefighters freed several affected people who had been trapped inside the vehicle and secured the area. The Civil Guard instructed the corresponding proceedings. The Insular Highway Center proceeded to clean the road.
