SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 6. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has provisionally notified 596 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, so the total accumulated cases in the Islands since the start of the pandemic is already 299,480, with 14,748 active, of which 33 are admitted to the ICU and 292 remain hospitalized.

Likewise, after yesterday no deaths were registered with COVID-19, seven deaths have been reported in the last few hours, of which four were in Gran Canaria and three in Tenerife, pending validation by Public Health. .

The Accumulated Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 421.15 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 889.77 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In addition, to date a total of 3,289,778 diagnostic tests have been carried out on the Islands, of which 3,673 correspond to yesterday.

By islands, Tenerife today has 281 cases, with a total of 136,980 accumulated cases and 6,398 epidemiologically active cases; Gran Canaria has 113,547 accumulated cases, 216 more than the previous day, and 6,698 active cases; Lanzarote adds 38 new cases, with 20,328 accumulated and 651 epidemiologically active; Fuerteventura has 14,795 accumulated cases, with eight new cases and 304 active ones.

La Palma adds 24 new positives, so it has 10,106 accumulated and 486 active; La Gomera has 15 more new positives, so its accumulated number is 1,887 and it has 141 active cases, and El Hierro has 14 new cases, so it has 1,836 accumulated number and its active number is 70.

The Ministry of Health recalls that these data published today on the Grafcan portal are provisional and are pending validation by the Public Health teams. In this way, the dynamics of the Alert and Emergency Coordination Center are followed, which does not receive epidemiological information from the Autonomous Communities on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

For this reason, the data may change once they are epidemiologically reviewed and consolidated by the General Directorate of Public Health according to the established protocols, so discrepancies may arise in the coming days in the updating of the data contained on the Grafcan website.
