Dmytro ShatrukVice President of the First Association of Ukrainians in the Canary Islandssaid this Sunday that the Russian army that talks about bringing peace to his country is actually committing a genocidegiven that shoot women and children.
On the occasion of a concentration in the plaza of Spain of the capital of Tenerife in which several hundred people participated to ask for financial and legal help, Dmytro Shatruk insisted on pointing out that his country’s army defends European values such as being free and democratic.
A concentration that is scheduled to end before the Sub-delegation of the Government of Spain in Santa Cruz de Tenerife to show support for the Ukrainian people and its army, has indicated Dmytro Shatruk, who has asked not to forget that there is war in Ukraine.
The vice president of the First Association of Ukrainians in the Canary Islands has commented that, for the moment, the only solution they see to the current situation is for the bombing to stop, for ballistic missiles to stop coming from Russia and Belarus.
Something that, in his opinion, will only be achieved if the allied European countries and NATO do what “they have done in other countries” in war situations such as in the former Yugoslavia, in Africa and in Israel.
He has recognized that it is dangerous to confront a country like Russia, with atomic bombs, but, he pointed out, the Russian army has bombed nuclear facilities in Ukraine, so the danger of a nuclear war has already occurred.
Dmytro Shatruk has requested weapons and planes that are in Poland, Lithuania and Estonia so that Ukrainians can use them to defend their country.
The Ukrainian community calls for people to attend peaceful rallies to show rejection of the aggressors, and also asks for medicines, technical support and financial support.
