SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 4. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The NGO Lavavientes has announced this Friday the launch of the auction of a painting made with ash from the La Palma volcano by the palm artist Mer Moraga in order to raise funds for families affected by the eruption.
The painting belongs to the exhibition ‘Textures’, an exhibition that brings together all the inspirations and feelings of the artist.
With the use of the acrylic technique, she mixes the abstract with her vision of women and the marine world, combining different textures in each painting and adding elements such as sand or volcanic ash.
Specifically, the painting to be auctioned is called ‘Tear’ and is made with acrylic and ashes from the La Palma volcano on canvas, measuring 82 by 99 centimeters.
The painting can be viewed, along with the rest of the exhibition, at the El Paso Tourist Information Office, Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. until March 15.
In addition, it is on the ‘Ebay’ auction platform with a starting price of 3,000 euros and will be available to interested parties for a period of 10 days and the money collected will be deposited in the affected account of the El Paso City Council at the request of the artist herself.
Yeray González, president of the NGO, thanks the artist for having relied on the organization “to channel the solidarity auction of this beautiful painting” which she hopes will serve “to contribute another grain of sand to those affected by this natural catastrophe”.
