SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 3. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Ukrainian community in Tenerife announced this Thursday that it will concentrate again this Sunday in Santa Cruz de Tenerife to demand that NATO and the European Union (EU) send weapons and more natural means so that the army can continue fighting in the invasion of Russia.
“We do not ask them to fight for us. We have courage
for that, but the Ukrainian army, more than ever, needs the
support of the citizens and governments of the European Union,
England and the United States to provide more weapons and means of defense,” they said in a statement.
They also request to increase political and economic pressure on the Russian Federation and provide the maximum legal and economic assistance to Ukrainian refugees in Spain.
The community highlights that the Ukrainian people have expressed their “seamless commitment” to European democratic values and “bearing for years” Russia’s aggressions against their freedom and attacks on their territorial integrity.
Thus, they indicate that Ukraine also wants to be part of the European Union and NATO “as one more country with a firm democratic conviction committed to the same values” and stress that the armed forces fight to defend these European values.
