SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 3. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Constitutional Court (TC) has agreed with the Canary Islands in its conflict with the Government of Spain in relation to the modification of the aspects of the Economic and Fiscal Regime (REF) referring to the incentives for audiovisual productions.
This was announced by the spokesman for the Canarian Executive, Julio Pérez, at the press conference of the Governing Council, where he realized that the Constitutional Court had declared the conflict over “due to the sudden loss of the object” of the conflict.
As explained by Julio Pérez, the Court understands that there has been “the de facto recognition by the State of the need to respect the rules that require the Parliament of the Canary Islands to be present when modifying the REF”.
“Therefore, one less conflict, one less problem,” said Pérez, who hopes that this path of ensuring that the modifications of the REF are made following a report from Parliament “will be followed little by little until these conflicts do not occur again “.
