SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 3. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Government Council of the Canary Islands has authorized in its meeting this Thursday the multiannual expenditure until the 2025 financial year –and for a total amount of 117,893,462 euros– the joint tender for the contracts for the drafting of the construction project and subsequent execution of the works on the TF-1 between Las Américas and Fañabé, in Tenerife.
In this way, it has been decided to tender the drafting of the project and the execution of the works at the same time to speed up and shorten the usual administrative processes, with the intention of being able to start the works this year.
With this work, the TF-1 motorway will be buried with a false tunnel in the section between Las Américas and Miraverde, leaving the upper part as a boulevard-type collector road that allows traffic to be diverted through four nodes towards Playa de Las Américas, Torviscas and Fanabe.
The false tunnel would start next to Siam Park and would end shortly before the X-Sur Shopping Center, the Executive details in a note.
The action will be carried out on a section of nearly three kilometers of the motorway and with it the aim is to close the cut, as a barrier, that the motorway produces in the tourist area of Las Américas, providing greater capacity to the current TF- 1.
The upper part of the false tunnel, where the collector roads will be located, will be complemented with accessible pedestrian itineraries, bike lanes and green areas.
After the authorization of this Thursday, it is expected to take out in just over a month the tender for the contract to draw up the project and start the works right after, a contract that has an execution period of 40 months once it is awarded.
