The Santa Cruz City Council has formally approached the Halcón Viajes company to remove the images from a campaign to promote trips to Brazil to enjoy its carnival, using images of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This was explained by the Councilor for Fiestas, Alfonso Cabello, who explained that “the Santa Cruz City Council has sent a complaint to the company for the fraudulent use of images of the Santa Cruz Carnival to promote the one in Rio de Janeiro. We expect them to correct immediately.”
Cabello has also added that “we understand that communication is being poorly managed to the extent that we know that many carnival people have contacted the company to point out their mistake, and not only are they not rectifying it, but they are deleting those comments”.
The image of one of the Queens as well as troupes from the Santa Cruz Carnival are used in the campaign that the company is promoting on its social networks.
