SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 2. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Government of Spain has awarded the IES Canarias Cabrera Pinto in Tenerife the Badge of Honor of the Order of Alfonso X the Wise, as stated in the Official Gazette of Spain (BOE) last Friday.

The Civil Order of Alfonso X el Sabio is intended to reward natural and legal persons and entities, both Spanish and foreign, who have distinguished themselves for their achievements in the educational, scientific, cultural or teaching fields or who have provided outstanding services in any of the them in Spain or outside of it.

Previously, the Minister of Education and Vocational Training of the Government of Spain, Pilar Alegría, addressed the Minister of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Canary Executive, Manuela Armas, to inform her of the entry into the order of the historic educational center of San Cristobal de La Laguna.

In his capacity as Grand Chancellor of the order, destined to distinguish the merits contracted in the fields of education, science, culture, teaching and research, Alegría has conveyed his congratulations for the granting of recognition to the Tenerife institute, which celebrates its 176th anniversary this year.

Since its foundation, prominent personalities of Canarian society have passed through its classrooms.

Manuela Armas has shown her satisfaction with this decision of the Ministry, which endorses the trajectory of a public center that has traveled for three centuries and that bears the name of one of its directors, the professor of Geography and History, teacher and journalist Adolfo Cabrera- I paint.
