The public bathroom that is next to the García Sanabria playground, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, has woken up in deplorable conditions, with a lack of hygiene in all its dependencies. Cigarette butts, rubbish, paper and dirt accumulate in the toilet area, mainly, but also next to the sinks.
Families who have taken their little ones this Sunday to enjoy the children’s area of this historic park in the capital of Tenerife have found themselves in this situation. Graffiti has also been painted inside the bathrooms and there are remains of plastic bottles.
The García Sanabria park is the most important in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with large shaded areas, benches, fountains. Families explain that the children’s area is very crowded and an area that has been at the mercy of restrictions during the pandemic.
This Sunday in February some 30 minors were playing in this park and the lack of cleanliness in the bathrooms has led families to have to resort to private cafeterias or to leave the area.
One of the families explains that the usual thing is that the bathroom has opening and closing hours and that this morning it was found open and in a state of dirt.
