The socialist councilor, Elena Mateo, today takes to plenary session the demand for the Department of Education and Youth to immediately unblock the call for the Youth Council, which has not met for two years, the same time that they carry CC and PP in the Government. As Elena Mateo points out, “they have been delaying as long as they could, interfering with baseless resources the convening of a Council whose members are appointed in accordance with the regulations that were approved when the PSOE governed.” The councilor adds that “the last of the appeals that they had raised before entering the Government, and on which they have insisted, has been dismissed by the legal service with a forceful report, so they no longer have any more excuses not to convene such an important body for the youth of the municipality”.
The mayor also points out that “CC, once again, is trailing our initiatives, and only five days after we registered the motion for this Plenary, they have sent an email to the members of the Youth Council to inform them that the calls are resumed, and that has happened only four days after we registered the motion,” he added. Mateo recalls that this body is made up of 52 citizen entities.
