The Plenary Session of Adeje will today approve the municipal budget for this year, which will increase by 6.3% to reach 94.5 million euros, which will be managed by a healthy town hall, which complies with all the economic parameters and with the payment of the debt o payment to suppliers in an average of nine days. The mayor, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, and the councilor for Good Government, Epifanio Díaz, presented a document that “will lay the foundations for the Adeje that we are projecting, the Adeje of the future, which will be based on the digital and ecological transition, on competitiveness and the sustainability that we want”, according to the councilor’s words.
The councilman clarified that chapters such as human resources are especially growing, to give stability to public employment; Endowments are improved, such as the Local Police, and public services to citizens, social care and the hiring of professionals who attend dependency, the elderly or people with difficulties, among other services, are increased.
It also increases spending on essential services, such as water treatment, electricity, garbage collection and waste treatment. More than 10 million of the remainder are earmarked for investments to undertake and initiate major works and projects. The councilman recalled that two million will stop entering due to the freezing or lowering of most of the rates and taxes.
The investment plan includes the new theater, the growth of the productive forest and the new infrastructures that it entails and that already have a budget to start the procedures. They also recover normality in the field of culture and the elements that have always distinguished Adeje, education, traditions, sports, etc., with expenses that will exceed three million euros.
All of this «with an eye on the backbone of Adeje Verde and Adeje Azul, where we want to integrate the primary sector into the tourism cycle, have renewable energies through the energy communities project and do not stop looking at the sea and to heaven as the main sources of wealth».
