Agents of the National Police arrested a 40-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of public disorder. This person allegedly placed a suspicious package in the military museum of the Almeyda barracks, which mobilized numerous members of the National Police and other emergency services.
The National Police investigation began on February 19, after a person placed a suspicious package at the door of the military museum in the Almeyda barracks.
Said package was placed in a blind spot from the security cameras, apparently to prevent graphic testimony from remaining and to make the presumed threat more credible.
For this reason, the agents cordoned off the area, cut off traffic and the Explosives Disposal Technicians of the National Police were activated. They neutralized the threat, finding a domestic appliance and different wiring inside the package.
The investigators, through the investigations carried out, identified and arrested the alleged perpetrator in the capital of Tenerife. He had already been arrested last year for allegedly planting what appeared to be an explosive device on the steps of the Captaincy General.
The actions were carried out by national police officers from the Provincial Information Brigade of the Provincial Police Station of the National Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
