SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Feb. 24 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Minister of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, Blas Trujillo, met this Wednesday with the group of Public Health workers and promised to provide the department with more personnel and material resources.
In a statement issued by the workers, they point out that the counselor is going to look for a formula “as soon as possible” to cover staff vacancies, which are around 30%, since no new positions have been created since 1996, which reveals the “precariousness” of the workforce and that it “has worsened” during the pandemic.
Likewise, he has said that the management will return to the Human Resources department of the autonomous community – now it is in the hands of the Public Function – and that the jobs will be adapted to the health field.
In addition, he thanked the workers for their “enormous sacrifice” throughout the pandemic and their “clear will” to resolve the department’s “deadly” situation.
