SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Feb. 24 (EUROPE PRESS) –
Pedro Martín has revalidated his position as general secretary of the PSOE of Tenerife after obtaining the maximum number of endorsements from the militancy. Martín has been the only candidate who has opted for the position of general secretary and his proclamation is carried out without the need for a vote as he has the support of Tenerife’s socialist militancy.
The Insular Commission of Ethics and Guarantee of the PSOE Tenerife has verified and validated the guarantees presented and that they exceed the required percentage of 15% of the affiliated people on the Island. In addition, it complies with the requirements established for the development of its functions.
The XVII Insular Congress of the PSOE Tenerife will be held on March 19 and 20 in the capital of Tenerife. During its development, the Insular Executive of the PSOE Tenerife for the next four years will be presented, in addition to approving the framework paper, the lines of action that will set the course of the party on the Island.
Pedro Martín is a psychologist. He was mayor of Guía de Isora from 1995 until achieving the Presidency of the Cabildo de Tenerife in 2019. In 2021 he assumed the Presidency of the Canarian Federation of Islands (Fecai). He has also been vice president of the Canarian Federation of Municipalities (Fecam) and a deputy in the Parliament of the Canary Islands. He now revalidates as general secretary of the PSOE of Tenerife, a position he reached in December 2017.
