Granadilla de Abona’s budget for the year amounts to 50,370,099 euros, almost 8% more than the previous one, without resorting to credit operations. It complies with the objective of budgetary stability and with the average payment period to suppliers, with the public debt limit and the spending rule; the remaining cash is positive and is in line with the economic and financial health ratios.
The mayor, José Domingo Regalado; the first deputy mayor, Marcos González, and the councilor for Economy and Finance, Rubén García Casañas, highlighted that the document aims to contribute to recovering social cohesion and it is a clear commitment to the most disadvantaged groups, employment, economic reactivation and sustainable development.
For investments reserves three million, an amount that will rise with the remainder of the municipal treasury
Regalado emphasized that Granadilla de Abona has zero debt with financial entities and highlighted the work with the most disadvantaged groups, which requires 12% of the budget (more than 5 million) for social actions. Training, education and an investment chapter of more than three million euros are other chapters that he highlighted.
García Casañas explained that it is about responding to the real needs of Granada society. For this reason, the fundamental axis is services, with increases in the areas of social assistance, cleaning, waste management, parks and gardens, cultural promotion and the promotion of citizen participation. The mayor of the Treasury highlighted the investment chapter, which will be reinforced with the remainder of the treasury and which will mean the largest investment in years for the municipality.
González alluded to the more than 670,000 euros for sports groups, in addition to the conditioning of a training room in the municipal pavilion. As president of the municipal company, Sermugran, detailed a budget with more than 9 million euros, almost two more than in 2021, which will be used, among other things, in a new mobile fleet and in finishing the building of the Business Center of Granadilla (CEGA), in the industrial estate.
The essential services to the population have greater financing
Among the actions to be carried out in the investment plan, the 2020-2023 road improvement and asphalting plan stands out, with 21 new streets (1,400,3882 euros); the acquisition of the Chimiche civic center (115,000 euros); ice machine and packing room at the Los Abrigos fish market (37,000 euros); conditioning the CEIP Montaña Pelada (430,000 euros), and the plan to improve playgrounds, calisthenics and bio-healthy equipment (470,000 euros).
To security, Granadilla allocates 4,230,000 euros, with more resources to Civil protection and the new project for the police station; in Education invests more than half a million in scholarships; in Mobility, more than 40,000 euros for the implementation of urban transport; 750,000 euros to draw up projects for supply, sanitation, Music School, Auditorium, new wake rooms, houses of culture and multipurpose building, in addition to incorporating architects, draughtsmen and technicians to the Technical Office.
