The full of City Hall of Candelaria will initially approve today city budget for the 2022 financial year, which amounts to 24,597,692.94 euros, which represents an increase of 5.86% compared to 2021, according to the Treasury Councilor, Airam Perez Chinea.
According to him, these accounts are made for the economic and social recovery of the municipality, based on four fundamental pillars: maintenance of social policies, promotion of employment and entrepreneurship, commitment to culture and sports, and public investment.
These accounts notably increase the items destined to promote employment with the four Programs of
Training for Employment (PFAE), which have been granted to the City Council by the Canary Islands Employment Service. In this line, from the Insertion Company six new insertion places will be created. In Social Services, we continue to focus on aspects such as Home Help, Food Bank and social emergency, among others, increasing items such as those for the Addiction Prevention Plan or Home Rehabilitation.
Also noteworthy are the subsidies to municipal groups, among which social, cultural and sports entities stand out, adding this year a subsidy to the Farmer’s Market Association.
Other relevant issues are the items destined for sanitation that represent 150,000 euros (including 50,000 for the Edari del Polígono de Güímar), to which must be added important investments committed by other administrations such as the Cabildo de Tenerife or the Government of the Canary Islands.
Rural and Fishing Development sees its budget increased with actions to improve the Fishing Dock and its surroundings.
With regard to the new List of Job Posts (RPT), an estimate has been incorporated to cover the salary increases that may arise from it once it has been negotiated with
union agents.
Municipal companies are included in this Budget. With regard to Epelcan, its budget is 850,362.86 euros and it is entrusted with services such as Home Help, Candelaria Radio and some municipal sports schools, while the accounts of the Insertion Company amount to 1,048,066.44 euros
